Praying, Living, & Loving the Franciscan Way
May 14 was our Garlic Mustard Pull , and 40-50 people generously gave 1 to 3 hours of their time to help us rid our wetlands of this invasive plant. Sr. Mary Lou Schramer (pictured here) put her whole self into this project. One of the younger volunteers (picture of boy) enthusiastically helped empty buckets of mustard for those doing the pulling, and Girl Scouts from Waukesha gave an afternoon of their time pulling the weed. The end result was a mountain of garlic mustard.
Sr. Diana De Bruin (left), director of the congregation, is in Rome, attending the International Union of Superiors General (UISG) gathering with 870 of her peers.
Sr. Justine Peter, OSF, will receive the Mother Bartholomew Lifetime Achievement Award on June 11. Through its annual Alumni Awards program, Cardinal Stritch University honors its most notable alumni for their professional and personal achievements which have made a significant impact in their field, and whose life and character have earned the respect and admiration of their peers and professional colleagues.
