Sr. Mary Jeanne sitting in some of her family's equipment that is crushing and recycling the brick and cement from the Marian Center building. The new ‘Sisters Program South’, affiliated with the Benedict Center, held an Open House. The Sisters Program Is designed to help women who are involved in street prostitution and sex trafficking, to find help, hope and a path to safer healthier lives. The collaborators for this project are Ascension Lutheran Church, Benedict Center, Dominican Sisters of Sinsinawa, School Sisters of St. Francis, Sisters of St. Francis of Assisi, and Sisters of St. Joseph of the Third Order of St. Francis. The open house was well attended and tours of the current facility and major remodeling project in process were given by staff and volunteers. Several speakers gave brief comments about the project and it’s goals and fast success. Neighborhood organizations and community groups are very supportive.
