Bundle up, get cozy, and check out The Sultan and the Saint on PBS tonight!
7pm (Channels 10.1 & 36.2) "Uncover the story of Francis of Assisi and the Sultan of Egypt as they met on the bloody battlefield during the period of Christian-Muslim conflict known as the Crusades." Our Franciscan mission invites and challenges us to allow God’s presence to radiate from us in all we are and do. How will I, you, we respond? Will we be conduits of God’s Love?
A big thank you to all who joined us for Franciscan Pie and Prayer as we prayed the Stations of the Nativity! We look forward to seeing you all (and more) in 2018 for our next P&P session.
"God's abundant blessings on each of you who helped make our first OSF Homemade Bakery and Craft Boutique such a resounding success! Our sister vendors proudly displayed the work of their hands and many buyers eagerly scooped up their work. The bakery area was filled with cookies, stollen, fruitcake, monkey bread and other tasty treats. The atmosphere was festive, and there was a hum of great joy and satisfaction in the air. The St. Nicholas Cafe had steady customers enjoying a cup of coffee and conversation. St. Nicholas himself could not have been more gracious and welcoming. The associates’ baskets were auctioned off every hour, which also added to the fun of the day. Selling bricks from St. Mary's Academy brought in many buyers, too. One of our sisters noted that, when she walked in to see what was going on, she felt so proud to be there! Sisters were all working together joyfully for the common good. There was a definite swell of gratitude by all at the end of a very successful day financially, and a somewhat exhausting day physically. A very special thank you to all who were involved from the committee members: Sisters KD, Mary Lou, Helene, Marlene and Mary Hau."
