Layton Blvd., Milwaukee. Raise your voice and prayer and song along with Catholic and Lutheran choirs. There will be a prelude at 6:30 p.m. followed by a prayer service at 7.
Also, discover how Lutherans and Catholics are greening Milwaukee through a joint tree planting project. 3 of the trees from this project were planted in our Urban Forest last week. Here is a photo of our own Sr. MaryLou planting the tree, which will be part of the slide show at the service that night showing all the trees being planted. This was the fruitcake baking weekend and both Marcia and Sylvia Anne added a few ingredients to the baking, while enjoying good conversations and a bit a laughter, too.
1000 pounds of fruitcake were baked. So, plan ahead for your purchasing! Charity Yang visited us from Taiwan and presented the Sisters of St. Francis of Assisi with a Certificate of Appreciation for our loving support for St. Theresa Opportunity Center. This is a center for people with developmental disabilities.
On September 28th, some of our Sisters took a visit to the Milwaukee County Zoo. The day included a zoo tram ride, as well as exploring and enjoying a variety of exhibits. One particular favorite was bird watching in the aviary. A great time was had by all!
